Molotov Jive
biography / portrait

Many things you imagine about Sweden are wrong. Firstly, its not cold and snowing all the time. Only most of the time. You do not need to sell your car to afford around of beers. Only your bicycle.
However, one thing that is correct is that the Swedes know a thing or two about great songs and good bands. A 40 year obsession with the English beat scene has fused with an equal passion for fins and chrome, Wurlitzer jukeboxes, west coast harmonies, and New York punk. This schitzoid cocktail has never been more potent than Molotov Jive.
Signed to indie giant Bonnier Amigo in late 2005, Molotov Jive set the Swedish airwaves alight in early 2006 with their debut single The Luck You Got. Anton Annersand writes and performs with just as much fire in his heart. Lyrics that are sometimes beautiful, sometimes torchured, all wrapped up in a whilpool of crashing guitars and heart stopping rhythms.
Indeed, the fab four of Liverpool England have had a big influence on the fab four from Karlstad Sweden. So have The Who, so has Phil Spektor and Mick Jones. So has red wine and Spendrups beer. Oskar Olofsson plays the guitar like the illigitimate child of Keith Richards and Courtney Love. Its wise to stand well back as it can get pretty dangerous.
Molotov Jive is everything the name suggests. White light, white heat, illuminating and explosive.
