Even though the strong traditional touch and the need to explore and create something completely new basically reach to different directions, Mockshot, instead of fumbling pointlessly around, succeeds to sound interesting over narrow genre limits. As where the band’s first single “Time for Denial / Break the Chains” for Turban Records in 2005 was scooping from the bottomless well of garage and action rock, the new material has a slightly different point of view. Roots are known and acknowledged and therefore there is no need to look into the rear mirror. Forgetting the narrow-minded retro touch, the band lets their music shape freely to what it is and should be like. In their music the classic idea of melody meets rough rhythms and guitars, traditional opinions are washed away with respect but without grief and the music is speaking for itself.
