Micke from Sweden
biography / portrait

And in the red corner! The hailing voice and stomping piano beast from the
north! Three foot five and weighing just 20 pounds! The one and only
musical artist that knows all there is to know about gold, diamonds and the fine game of snooker!
I proudly present to you the one man band, the tap-dancing pianoman, Mr One Punch, Mr Eighteen Karat, straight from the garden of Eden: Micke from Sweden!

Also known as Micke Lohse, also known as the organplayer from Swedens
finest band Atomic Swing in his own words.

– Firstly I owe a lot to my producer and longtime friend Janove Ottesen for putting his mind into my songs.
Ever since I heard my father play songs by Hugo Wolf and Robert Schumann I knew that the stories I needed to tell were best accompanied with the sound of a piano. For me these songs and recordings are a very egoistic act of my own mind. Although I can appreciate the possibility of other people being able to here my songs, I must confess that they are mainly for my wife, my cat Ziggy, and my serial killer neighbour.

– The future is unknown, as far as I´m concerned, and I kind of like it to stay that way as long as I have a pair of nice shoes on my feet. I´ve travelled a long way to get this far and I wouldn´t have the money to pay for a returnticket anyway. I`d rather die on the verge of success than on my neighbour´s door steps.

– I drive a rusty Volvo PV –62, the radiator is broken and the breaks are weak. I drink heavily on occasion and shoot a decent game of pool and my idea of a good night is a Tuesday evening at Santanas Pizza in Ursviken.

– I´ve played and toured with many great artists such as Atomic Swing, Kaizers Orchestra, Janove Ottesen, Stefan Sundström, Pugh Rodefeldt, The Solution, Ulf Stureson, Thee Ultra Bimboos, Real Ones, This Perfect Day, The Kooks, Millencollin, Staffan Hellstrand, Mørten Abel, Fjodor Eriksson, Docenterna, Paul Young, Bonnie Tyler and others. People tell me I look a lot like Leif Pagrotsky, I´ve shaken the hand of the majesty King Karl-Gustav in Sapporo and I´ve met Bob Svensson from Stalands Furniture.
