The Green Pitch

Green Pitch was formed in 1998 when guitarist Ste Rasch Left his home on a small island in the baltic sea, and moved to Copenhagen where he met singer Rex Garfield. They started writing and recording songs together on an old 4 track, and in 2001 they released the charming lo-fi album ”The outlet pass”. The album found its way to the primary danish alternative radio station, making Green Pitch known on the indie scene. Green Pitch then began performing live with Singer/guitarist Kristian Kristian (The river phoenix), drummer Michael Brandt (the river phoenix), and multi instrumentalist Moogie Johnson (Munck Johnson) adding to the band’s Intimate sound. Working with these musicians Green Pitch Started the recordings to what would become the critically acclaimed record Ace of hearts, which was released on the newly established Good Guy’s recording company in 2005. In 2007 the album was furthermore released in Canada and the U.S. by the american record company Funzalo records, and was distributed in the rest of the world by english Rykodisc. By then Green Pitch had begun recording their next album ”La Jolla”, adding yet another multi instrumentalist, Reno Rasmussen, to the team of musical collaborateurs. In the summer of 2007 the couple moved to San diego California where they finished the record and played a series of concerts together with italian viola player Chiara Pierobon. In the fall of 2008 Green Pitch returned to Copenhagen where they signed with PonyRec. ”La Jolla” will be released April 10th 2009.
