Oceano da Cruz is a one-man band based where he lays his hat. During the winter and spring of 2001 he recorded 12 songs and a photograph. The songs resulted in the full length CD “Rocksploitation”, where O. d. Cruz plays all the instruments except for a few bass-lines and some noise that were added on by members of My Friend George. In the Danish online site Murmur’s recommendations of June 2002, O. d. Cruz’ music was referred to as the missing link between Papa M, My Morning Jacket and Will Oldham. It might not be wrong although O. d. Cruz hasn’t heard of the three artists mentioned. O. d. Cruz finds that he’s more influenced by the likes of Dream Theater, Erasure and Ralph Ellison. A new release from Mr. da Cruz has been scheduled and postponed several times over the past 3 years. But we are true believers and right now we're going for the re-release of "Rocksploitation" alongside the new album "No More Oceanomania" on 1 CD in May 2006. (source: www.morningsiderecords.dk)
