Dúné
biography / portrait

Dúné [Dyné] are a young Danish band who is inspired from the the seventies punk, the eighties pop and the nineties indie rock. All mixed together to indielectrock!
Dúné have played several concerts in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany. So they’re an experienced live band. They deliver a live show loaded with elegance, stile and high energy, and when they leave the stage it’s certain that everybody among the audience has seriously warmed up their dancing shoes, legs and auditory canal!

A year ago the biggest Danish music magazine, GAFFA, wrote about one of Dúné’s shows:
"Dúné’s music consists in a good amount of sixties rock, like The Who, simply mixed with a punk attitude and a well-developed sense of electronic effects. The two guitarists act like indomitable whippers, but everybody is in constant motion on the chaotic stage, and in lead singer Mattias Kolstrup there are traces of great potential. The repertoire is still not overly comprehensive, but on the other hand Dúné perform their songs to something near perfection and it's stunning."
-Pelle Sonne Lohmann, GAFFA

Since the review in GAFFA Dúné have increase their repertoire and recorded their third EP “Go Go Robot”.
It was recorded in 8 days in Copenhagen with Junior Senior’s co-producer Jens “Moon Rocks” Thomsen.
The 8 days were a lot of hard work and the nights were spend on a cold concrete floor in a closed Discotheque, where the band passed the time seeing “24 Hour Party People” again and again.

About the new EP the indie magazine, Geiger, wrote:
"Robot Beat” – is a keen, tight and catchy song about writing blockade and the surrounding causes. Here is definitely a hit in infancy (...) Go Go Valentina” is a beautiful ballade … Here the sharp guitars and analogue synthesizer riffs really are exposed. Moreover Kolstrup shows a more soft and sensitive part of his vocal.”
-Steffen B. Pedersen, Geiger Magazin

Denmark isn’t enough for the young band. With their new EP, Dúné want to play all over Europe.
And they definitely have the blessing from the native country. The General Manager for Music Export Denmark wrote in the music magazine LineOut:
"The EP sounds like a foundation stone to a long and successful carrier both in Denmark and internationally. In spite of the young age of the members, Dúné have already created an interesting frame to present their music in. It is really a refreshing and very positive experience."
-Kristian Riis (Music Export Denmark), LineOut
